Veterans
Day: No Oaths to Trump
This is an overpass visibility event on Veterans Day,
November 11, 2025.
Across the nation, teams will hold visibility events on
overpasses and bridges. Millions of people will see the messages! The purpose
of this national event is to give Veterans a platform to express their outrage
with the Trump administration's steamrolling of our Constitution and rules of
law. Veterans, as well as all public servants who swear an oath to the
Constitution, are tired of the administration thinking military service members
make oaths to the president!
Come stand on a bridge in solidarity with groups across the
U.S.!!!
Goals for
this protest include:
Support
the Constitution
U.S. Veterans take their oath to the Constitution very
seriously. Many are outraged at how the Trump administration blatantly violates
the Constitution on a daily basis. The words “support
and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign
and domestic” come from the military oath. These words have deep meaning for service members, even after their service has
ended. Visibility events on bridges across the nation provide Veterans an
opportunity to bring their message to the public in a highly effective way.
All are
Welcome
You don't have to be a veteran to participate in this
protest, however we prefer that veterans are involved in the planning of
local events so they are truly messages from vets.
Timing
and Planning:
While we are expecting organizers to plan overpass
visibility events on Veterans Day, there is no set time nationally. Select a
time that works for the organizers and maximizes visibility. Collaborate within
your region if possible to plan visibility events at
the same time for the most impact.
Visibility events on freeway overpasses can take many forms, including fabric
or tarp banners mounted on poles, large signs, letters on posterboard spelling
out a message, printed vinyl banners, or other creative signage methods. For
inspiration and ideas, check out the photo wall from the Labor Day "We Are
Over It" Mexico to Canada banner challenge: https://livewall.no/Qdg7uWAuegGhNYvGiyYpJ7/feed/?k=jcmYNfHfY85JSyntRBnUJQ

Commitment
to Non-Violence
No Oaths to Trump, in alignment with bannering groups
and veterans protest groups across the U.S., remains committed to non-violent
protests and to maintaining all constitutional rights, including to peacefully
assemble under the First Amendment. To borrow words from 50501 Veterans,
"We unequivocally condemn any form of violence, threats of violence, or
the suggestion of using weapons in connection with our movement. There is
absolutely no place for weapons at any of our events. We will not allow any
actions that could endanger others."
Furthermore, we expect all volunteers and all events created
under the "No Oaths to Trump" campaign to be conducted lawfully and responsibly, and disavow anything advocating for violence.
Overpass visibility events are legal as long as
sidewalks and roadways aren't blocked, and as long as
banners/signs are not suspended beyond the pedestrian side of the bridge rail.
Each state has their own guidelines and rules, so please check your local
ordinances to ensure you are bannering legally and
safely!
Messages
Banners should be Vet-positive statements focused on how
Vets do not support the administration. Emphasize the fact that vets took an
oath to the Constitution, the same oath that all government officials take, and
vets expect government officials to live up to their oaths like Veterans have
done.
